It's been an amazing year and a half since the book released.

The Art Spy was named a Best Book of 2025 by the New York Public Library, Library Journal, and Hyperallergic, and named the 2026 Massachusetts Book Awards Nonfiction Honors title.

The most moving part of my book journey, however, has been hearing from the many readers, a good number who have personal stories connected to the book, and many others who were inspired by the story of the heroine, Rose Vallon, the art curator who outsmarted the Nazis.

A great publication.

Yeah, and this was published just a few days ago on September 4th, 2026.

Exactly.

Yeah.

But looking at the scope of this particular list, the editors at Hyperallergic are like actively dismantling that definition.

They really are.

It gives me a place to speak from.

And the reality was that what was interesting is after leaving the museum, I also, not only did I get this fellowship that it gave me some financial freedom to kind of take some time, but then Hrag Vartanian at Hyperallergic also provided me with this journalism fellowship for curators, which was absolutely game-changing for me.

Not only did it help me write the book, but it helped me see how I liked to write and the kind of writing I wanted to do and didn't want to do.

And those two things together really allowed me to kind of chart another future because it helped me recognize that I actually wasn't only my title at an institution, that I had a whole set of ideas that I needed to share with the world.
