I would definitely consider it a cozy fall, but it is cozy and I'm working on trying to pronounce this correctly.

The author describes it as hygge.

Cozy, but the idea of cozy, but there is still danger outside of the cozy.

I studied abroad in London for a year and I became obsessed with Scandinavian cultures.

And they have this term in different Scandinavian cultures that I'm going to pronounce wrong, but it's Hygie is basically how it's spelled H-Y-G-G-E.

And it's all about like creating the art of cozy around your space.

And what that looks like throughout the year is obviously different, but I think it's a concept that can be so well applied to postpartum.

I also don't ever wanna settle for a physical space with great vibes and cozy chairs and warm lighting.

The Danish call it hygge.

The whole class is around modeling and how you teach and learn empathy.

And then Hygge, that's a huge, very Danish parenting tenant, I would say, which is essentially Elevating family time and togetherness time and learning early on how to give up the me for the we.

Yeah.

I love that.

You know, my initial reaction to this is to think, are parents just going to try and achieve Hugo the same way that they try and achieve everything else? And is there a risk in the way in which I look at the way in which people try and do conscious parenting? And if they don't first begin from the place of, I am enough...

and I am worthy of respect and dignity and love and belonging, then they just, instead of punishing their kid for not being able to read or not being regulated enough emotionally, they punish themselves for not being a good enough parent.

And so are we at risk in such a performance-driven environment externally motivated country of just trying to achieve Hygge the same way that we are now trying to achieve academic excellence or anything

else? When I first wrote The Danish Way of Parenting, and it was funny, even just talking about play and free play, and this was many years ago, and people were starting to see how important it was because science proves it.
