As a young plant, okay, you know, maybe not the first year, maybe the second year, but Hydrangeas paniculata, the panicle hydrangeas, are fairly reliable.

And the good thing about them is that they flower on new wood.

So you can cut them back in the spring, they're going to produce some growth and it's on there that you'll get the small buds that eventually open.

It acted like a barbecue at times too, you know? It could, yes.

And the Hydrangea, I got it in 1916.

Where I live, it was houses played in 1916 and the Hydrangea looks like it's 100 years old.

It's probably around, when you leave it alone, it gets up to two metres.
