We go to Tonsberg, Norway, March 1942.

Johann Schmidt and the forces of Hydra bash their way into this ancient castle.

And Schmidt has been... searching for something for a very long time, and he believes that he's now finally found the hiding place of this legendary object of immense power.

Walder Frey is there, and he tries to trick Schmidt into accepting, like, a glass cosmic cube.

But it's just really interesting to see how it feels like, you know, almost 20 years later.

It's really, really great.

We cut from here to a top secret Hydra mountain base.

We meet Dr. Arnim Zola, who is fine-tuning his experimental machinery.

Captain America, like, and he was in the Kelly Thompson book as well, and he throws him back to, like, he kicks him out of Monster Island.

There is this event book that's going to, that maybe goes through this, in fact, called Secret Empire, where Captain America turns out to be a HYDRA agent.

Uh-oh.

And Deadpool and the Punisher Take Captain America Hydra Cap's side because here's why.

... get, you know, brainwashed, you know, using the code words that were keeping him as a, a dormant Hydra weapon, and then immediately jumping into the assassination of w- who we now know as Tony Stark's parents.

Ugh, devastating.

We knew it was gonna be a heavy movie starting there, and then immediately going into the Lagos battle.

You know?

Yeah.

Like, the kids have to pick a side and, you know, you understand why Black Widow, like, she's trying to correct- ... all the red in her ledger, and she chooses Tony 'cause she thinks like, "Okay, this is not Hydra.

Maybe for the first time, like, I'm actually gonna make the right decision."

It was Diamondback, Sharon Carter, and Bernie Rosenthal.

Madam Hydra, or I should take that back, Viper, wanted to take back Hydra.

So she wanted to do that.

So she recruits the natural to come in and help.

My story was Revenge of the Ex-Partners.

So Kang wanted Cap distracted, so he plucks his former partners during key moments, and then he convinces Free Spirit to seek revenge.

Because, remember, Hydra Cap killed Jack Flag? Yeah, yeah.

And so she... thought, didn't know that was Hydra Cap, so she thought it was the real Steve, so she's seeking revenge, and she's pulling all these partners, so you've got the 50s Winter Soldier.

Like you're waiting for him to turn or like a twist for him to be revealed as a bad guy.

And watching this, you're thinking, okay, is the president in cahoots with Red Skull? Hydra is not mentioned in this movie, but, you know, I could definitely see something where he goes, hail Hydra at some point.

Yeah.

Ned Beatty is in this movie in a very small role, and I do like how his character is connected to being Ronnie Cox's friend when they're kids, and you can immediately tell.
