Hutt Valley High School

so with your schooling was that in the hut that you were doing the art or was it elsewhere

yeah I went to Hutt Valley High and did art in fifth form and sixth form And I remember trips to, you know, the Odland Gallery as part of our art class and things like that.

Yeah.

Who was the art teacher you had at Hutt Valley High? Do you recall?

Yeah, Mr. Hawes.

I can't remember

I should actually mention my husband.

At the Taita Cricket Club at a friend's farewell party, I met this lovely chap, Christopher Riley, who's quite a well-known teacher down at Hutt Valley High School.

He's just retired this year, actually, so he's no longer at Hutt Valley High School, but he was there for something like...

I don't know, almost 40 years or something, 38 or 39 years or something.

Yeah.
