Yeah, he'd already—when Hurricane Sally came, he had to move out like early, I guess.

You know, Hurricane Sally was the first direct hit hurricane that we had since this program really hit critical mass in Alabama.

What's the data around the number of claims versus the number that were fortified homes and that sort of thing? Because I know amongst my agency and a few of my buddies, it was really low.

It did not happen like Ivan or Sally.

If it was sat there for 20 hours or 25 hours, it would have been devastating.

Yeah, the interesting thing about this storm, Greg, was it had this phenomenon called a sting jet, which is not normally associated.

Yeah, the amount of debris.

Hurricane Sally, the winds were there in town.

It was a very slow storm, so it did probably a lot more vegetative debris.

So $430 million worth of taxpayer money was thrown at getting it up to code.

It was recently reopened earlier this year, and Hurricane Sally ends up knocking off a giant chunk of it.

Yes, the bridge was sustaining all these other previous hurricanes, but once its air quotes fixed, it falls apart the next time it's challenged.

No, that's not suspicious at all.

But compared to other hurricanes, which cost tens of billions, this is not nearly as bad as it could have been, considering the history of that area and how storms have intensified in the past.

When you look at estimated insured losses reported by Florida's insurance regulator, ECS ranks sixth among the last ten big storms to hit the state, just above Hurricane Sally, which also hit the Panhandle.

So Ian was the worst.

over $22 billion in insured damage.

Uh, but it, [laughs] it shifted far enough east that it did not cause any real issues, uh, for, for most of the people in CMC.

Um, and after Hurricane Sally and 10 months transient because of our building damage, I am very thankful that it shifted far enough away from us that it didn't create a, a major complication here.

Uh, but, uh, it, it is good to be back, uh, with our Mishpacha, with our family here at CMC.

Uh, it is good to be in service again.

And, uh, COVID came around in 2020 and kind of changed my career plans that I, uh, used to be an engineer and, uh, I went in business with my best friend at the time.

Um, we opened this dealership, uh, back in 2020 and, and kind of, uh, had a little bit of a crazy beginning there with, uh, Hurricane Sally coming in a couple weeks after we opened up, and then, uh, you know, all the COVID craziness going on.

But we kinda hung on and, and, and kinda fought through it, and just celebrated six years here at MakeWay.
