A feasibility study on Forest Grove Park, a nearly 100-acre parcel in northeast Bettendorf that the council would like to see develop into a destination park, calls for an estimated $36.3 million in amenities over the next decade.

In December, the council hired Shive, Hattery, and Hundon partners to prepare the study to plan out options for the park and cost estimates.

The Bettendorf City Council heard the results of that study Monday night and voted to accept the report Tuesday night.

The park study and methods to pay for some of the amenities are expected to be a topic of the council's goal-setting sessions later this fall.

The consultant's proposed timeline is for those to be completed in summer of 2028, said Jennifer Radloff, project manager at Shive Hattery.

Unlike the trails, the built amenities would have some cost recovery.

Charlie Johnson, with Hundon Partners, told the City Council Monday that a covered overlooked shelter, pavilion, and event lawn could be rented, for example.

Food truck vendors could pay a site fee.
