Hunan cuisine

a chinese american creation from the early 20th century they differ from authentic chinese spring rolls because of their much thicker battered wrappers so egg rolls are not chinese um and y'all know what this one is, everybody's favorite fucking dish, General Tso's chicken is not Chinese.

While invented by a chef originally from Hunan, the sweet, heavily battered, and deep fried version of an American, deep fried version in America was developed to appeal to U.S. tastes.

So General Tso's chicken, but General Tso is not Chinese.

That's the one that's hard.

So and what's happened is that now we have... much greater regional diversity.

So there are Sichuan restaurants, restaurants in Dongbei, northeast of China, Hunan, Shanghainese.

So people can now see that Chinese cuisine is not one thing.

It is very diverse.
