Well, he was there a second ago.

A humpback whale is in this video drawing a lot of attention from people who say, hey, this guy's too close to shore over here.

Yeah, I mean, that's not where it's supposed to be.

It's all, of course, clearly.

So, Kristen, Larry, some people remember Humphrey the whale and maybe Delta and Dawn.

That was the wayward whales, the mama and her calf.

Experts say it's really rare to see a humpback whale in these waters here.

And the people who spotted this week say it was a sight to see.

They gotta play Campbell, the, the, the Humpbacks or the Fighting Camels, whatever the ...

And since I mentioned Whale Fall, the book and movie, I'd like to talk about the real-life event that somehow was the catalyst.

So while Whale Fall is not a true story, Daniel Krauss got the idea from After seeing, do you guys remember a viral video back in 2020 of the kayakers who were briefly, lovingly engulfed and spit out by a humpback whale? But in November 2020 at Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo Bay, California, two friends, Julie McSorley and Liz Cottrell, were out on a tandem yellow kayak and they were out there whale watching, enjoying the sunrise, having some quality time.

They paddled about 30 feet away from other actual people and unfortunately found themselves floating over a massive what is called bait ball and happens to be a swirling swarm of silverfish.

And that happens to be a perfect snack for lung feeders such as humpback whales.

So these girls are floating there and just imagine you're just minding your own business out on the water and a whale is charging up at you mouth open.
