Hull, I love it up he- up in Humberside.

I love it.

Yeah.

Um, obviously occasionally they have to go elsewhere and take players and, well, cough, cough, Tommy Spraggon.

But, um, in the main they, they do like to keep things, um, based on Humberside.

So, um, I've got a lot of time for Hull, uh, and it's not just about the chip spice.

So, um-

He's back with us.

He's back in Humberside.

[laughs] I don't think football really works like that.

I'm glad that-

Between 200 and 100 BC, Belgae from Gaul crossed to Britain, bringing not only weapons but also a taste for slaves.

Their settlement in places like Humberside suggests they were more than fleeting raiders.

They established semi-permanent communities.

Trade between these new arrivals and native tribes is evidenced by shared ceramic styles and metalwork.

Now, I know you've just come back from a trek to Hull.

How was Humberside? Yeah, it's a long way from

Now, one of the things that, you know, we had a chat on Radio Humberside a little bit earlier.

I was saying, you know, we're into that.

But we...

Finally, the much lauded addition of Mark Shelton and Cartwright number two, Finlay Cartwright on loan from Middlesbrough.

So it was nice to get them done on deadline day.

I don't think David Artel enjoyed deadline day being on a match day, but they were both seen in the stands at Hackey and did their first kind of little interviews with with the team and Shelton's a weird one he was on Humberside just before me and he's gone to York, not played a minute for him and he's joined in the summer, he knew we wanted him and they wanted him, he went to them and now they don't want him so he's over with us so he sounded grateful for being here and the thing that's impressed him is how much we wanted him and the fact that we still wanted him even though we'd chosen York.

So he really sounds motivated to play for us and do well.

I think having decisions made closer to the geographical area that they're going to impact on has got a sound intellectual theory behind it.

But the reality of this, look, Laura, I know you grew up in the North West and I know you now live in London and you've hinted there already that this is so this this thinking has been based on what Andy Burnham has done and what Steve Rotherham have done in in the northwest around Liverpool and Manchester and it does it does have some credibility but there is a massive difference between the urban areas of Liverpool and Manchester and let's just say North Yorkshire, Humberside you know even London now has How we get over that and how we organise that and how we plan for that, you've already hinted, they just don't have the structures.

These places don't have the infrastructure necessary to do the sort of things that we talk about here, about young people moving around, connecting better to business and industry.

They're all worthy aspirations and things that we should be aiming for, but will have massive different hurdles, be it in Cornwall, or the North East or in the East Midlands.
