I know maybe last year or two years ago, I talked a little bit about a group, local group called Ty Walker and the Humanoids.

So cool.

At the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing last month, essentially an Olympics for machines, a Chinese robot shattered the hundred meter sprint record.

Its time? Eight point six four seconds, nearly a full second faster than Usain Bolt, the fastest man on Earth.

But step outside that sterile, controlled track, and it's a completely different story.

So I've collected some of the weirdest Milwaukee New Wave bands, like this one.

This is called Xeno-Uke and the Humanoids.

Chicken little said the sky is falling.

All I see are flying saucers whamming.

That's why whenever I'm on vacation and there's like one bathroom and I'm sharing a place with friends and loved ones, you know what I do? I will take the hair dryer temporarily out of the bathroom so I can dry my own hair in my room so someone else can use the bathroom.

That's just how courteous I am as a vacationer.

Finally, we kicked off that last set with The Sky is Falling by Zeno, Uke, and The Humanoids, another track recorded sometime in the 1980s, or perhaps 1979, because this was featured on that great compilation from 97, once again called The Great Lost Brew Wave Album.

All right, well, here's another personal anecdote about Milwaukee.

The creature gets its strange name from its unique appearance.

Humanoid, bipedal, and somewhat ape-like, standing around seven feet tall, it might sound like Bigfoot at first.

However, the odd details make it even stranger.

The Mossman earns its name from the copious foliage and grass that seems to either grow upon it or be intertwined and entangled with its hair, giving it a green cast and helping it camouflage nearly perfectly.
