Between all of the businesses based out of Oyster Landing, Hula Hut, Kinsey, Moreland Properties, Lake Austin Calm, Austin Rental Boats, Mozarts, the marina itself, the combined job loss is 200 jobs.

The economic impact for just those six weeks is two and a half million dollars.

Well, Sean Smith, he owns Austin Rental Boats, Lake Austin Lights, and he says the fall is typically the busiest time of year.

the lowering of the lake, this means these businesses are going to close.

Yeah, I mean, they're not going to be able to operate.

Nobody's going to go to the hula hut to have some enchiladas? Well, maybe the Hula Hut or Mozart's, because you can get there by land.

But if you've got maybe a company party planned on the water or a wedding or something like that planned on the water, none of that's going to happen for you now.

Yeah, they remember their repeat customers.

So Hula Hut is on Lake Austin, literally on the lake.

It's a lakeside restaurant with its beautiful deck, so you can dine over the water.

You can see turtles in the water.

It's really cute.

Boats will pull up on the dock there and come on into Hula Hut.
