To kick things off, we have Genius Girlfriend or 天才女友.

This 28-episode high school romance drama stars actress Tian Xiwei and actor Hu Yitian in the lead roles.

The drama started airing on August 2nd on iQiyi.

Here is the plot summary.

Girl genius Lin Zhixia featuring Tian Xiwei has a straightforward personality and is not very good at socializing.

She has had no close friends since childhood.

After being admitted to the number one high school in the province, she meets top student Jiang Yubai featuring Hu Yitian, who has a sunny personality.

And through a problem-solving competition, the two become desk mates.

It just, they needed to switch it up earlier because I was so done with the high school part of the show, and I wanted them to go onto the second half of the show.

And Hu Yi Tian, look, I like him, but I just don't think he's that good at chemistry.

Uh, God, hot take.

Um, so, so yeah.

Not by Tian Xi Wei.

Tian Xi Wei can do no wrong, no wrong, absolutely.

Have we seen Pursuit of Jade? That girl can do chemistry, just not with Hu Yi Tian.

So, that is Genius Girlfriend, um, and yeah, I gave it a 7.5 out of 10.

I mean, honestly, the only commonality is that they both star very tall actors.

So the two stories, one is Genius Girlfriend or Tian Cai Nu You, starring Tian Xiwei and Hu Yitian.

The other one is a vertical drama, but it's an adaptation of a fairly well-known IP by the same author as Overdue.

I know, we just can't let Overdue go, or it won't let us go.

Basically, we got Tianxi Wei is a super smart kid.

They set her up as socially awkward or hard to befriend, though I have things to say about that.

And it's really a story about her and her, I guess, childhood male best friend, who is played by Hu Yitian.

And they're kind of growing pings, not pings, but just growing path, right? And then their friendship circle as it grows.
