Howard Payne University

They have a big game at Trinity coming up, uh, this weekend.

Uh, elsewhere, if you go to the back page, UMHB held the court and, uh, gave Howard Payne their first loss of the season in a 33 to 10 victory for the Crew.

And then in a battle of a couple of ODAC teams, Shenandoah takes care of Averett 38 to 20.

Sounds good.

And my game ball is gonna go to Mary Hardin-Baylor safety Joey Johnson.

The Crew, they put down a vintage Crew defensive performance on Saturday with a 33 to 10 win over Howard Payne.

The Yellow Jackets limited to just nine first downs and 132 yards of total offense.

That's a team that entered that week Second in the division at 541 yards of offense p- per game.

Joey Johnson, he was central to shutting down that Howard Payne offense.

Johnson led the team in tackles with 10, nine of them solo, and he had a 21-yard fumble return for a touchdown that put the Crew up 16 to zero in the first quarter.

And for leading one of the top defensive performances of the weekend, Joey Johnson gets my game ball.

but a loss to Rowan would remove any buffer for a second loss.

In the American Southwest, the biggest game is between Mary Harden-Baylor and Howard Payne.

If UMHB loses, they would no longer control their destiny and probably need to win a tiebreaker to get the conference AQ to get in.

For Howard Payne, they don't have a loss yet this season, but with only seven games versus Division III opponents, they'll need to go one and one or better against Harden-Simmons and UMHB to get into the field.

The OAC game to watch this week is Baldwin-Wallace and Ohio Northern.

BW is in the driver's seat in the conference after their win against Heidelberg last week, but a weak non-conference schedule means they can't afford to take two losses.

Coming up for Week 6, Game of the Week in Region 3.

We know you all had this circled when the schedules came out.

Tom Banks of Auburn, the center.

Bob Young of Howard Payne and Conrad Dobler of Wyoming of the guards.

Roger Finney of Florida A&M and Dan Deardorff, who may be the top offensive tackle in the NFC of Michigan.

He's 6'3 and 280.

...

Howard Payne just did it, but I would really like to do Anastasia.

Mm.

I feel like it would be really cool on this stage.

You can see on the bottom line here though, pretty lopsided scores.

Even the one at the Frisco Star between Howard Payne and Simpson, not much of a close game there.

So yeah, Region 3, lots of blowouts this weekend.

Well, now I wanted to get us to Region 4 prematurely.

Right, exactly.

Howard Payne was on the marquee in the three as the Yellow Jackets knocked off Simpson 52-28 in a game played at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

This is where the Dallas Cowboys practice and where most of the organization's operations are located.

So, you know, slightly upgraded accommodations than compared to your average Division III facility.

The Yellow Jackets, they put on a show running up 554 yards of offense.

Quarterback Bryce Still threw for 438 yards and three touchdowns.

Howard Payne is 3-0 now.

They've got one more non-Division III game to play next week before they open up ASC play with Mary Harden Baylor on October 10th.

It could be a very rainy game we saw from our open.

I mean, there's – okay, Simpson Howard Payne is being played in Frisco, Texas, in a neutral site venue.

At the

Star,

I'll take the Tigers.

They're the Tigers, right? Yep.

The Jackets are Howard Payne.

My bad.
