As we close this podcast out with a year by year crawl up through our two decade span, we alight today in 1997, a poppy year for country music without a doubt, and a year that memorably featured dueling versions of the same Diane Warren blockbuster.

I'm talking about Tricia Yearwood's and Leanne Rimes' independently hued renditions of 1997's How Do I Live.

So, what is the deal with there being two essentially parallel versions of How Do I Live? Well, it happened like this.

How Do I Live was written by uber successful pop music songwriter Diane Warren.

Diane Warren, U.S. songwriter, written over 80 top 20 hits, including Aerosmith's I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.

Leanne Rimes, How Do I Live? She's written for Cher, for Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Rod Stewart, Ace of Base, and this song that she wrote is to me just insanely beautiful and awesome.

Of course, Toni Braxton performing.

what will probably be known as one of her biggest hits ever, Unbreak My Heart.

Have you guessed it? Do you know what the twofer song is going to be? Well, we're going to do an episode that pairs up Trisha Gearwood with Leanne, no, not Womack, Rhymes.

Because who could forget their dueling versions of the same single in 1997? That's right, our next episode will be on both Trisha Gearwood's and Leanne Rhymes' version of Diane Warren's How Do I Live? Although most likely we'll focus most of our attention on Trisha's, which at least as I remember it was considered the more country of the two at the time.
