He did a version on his Hourglass album.

It has an appeal for sure.

Now, whether it's the innocent telling of an age old story or the fact that it conjures up the era in which it was written, I think the appeal is in it that although courtship runs its course, always does, there should always be respect and the courtship rituals and I suppose the decorum you would like to think honours that respect.
