Houndmouth

So I'll come back to Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, but now I'm just gonna play Casino.

The song is called Casino, from a band called Houndmouth, from 2013.

From the Hills Below the City is the name of the album.

[singing] The dealers and the boo girls got me hooked on freebase.

And before that, I played Hey Rosetta!, their, um, track Young Glass from a 2011 album called Seeds.

So yeah, mostly...

Oh, oh, b- did I tell you before that Houndmouth? I played Casino from, um, their 2013 album, uh, From the Hills Below the City.

So lots of kind of old, older music tonight, but, uh, I think we're going well.

Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country.

We didn't stay for Houndmouth just because we both work Sunday, which is today doing this.

But I will say Molly Tuttle absolutely crushed it.

She did play our favorite, Cricket Tree.

Tell me about your first tour you went on.

First tour I went on was with Hellmouth right out of Blackbird.

And I was just the front of house guy.

Never mixed front of house live in my life.

In Nashville, where nothing ever sells out, well, this week some things did.

Americana Fest at the Basement East tonight, the big showcase with Aubrey Bug, Abraham Alexander, Langhorne Slim, Future Birds, Shaky Graves, The Brook and the Bluff, and Houndmouth.

That is sold out.

Also, Slater on Tuesday was moved from the basement east to Brooklyn Bowl, and it sold out right away with secondaries going for an eye-watering $450.

So let's play a track off that.

There's two tracks here by Houndmouth.

Here we go.

Red sandstone it fell.

I don't really want to talk about it.

Talk about it I'm scared they might find out Lost track Looking for a sign Sprained my ankle While rolling the dice Rolling the dice Came upset I don't really want to talk about it Don't want to say it out loud I don't really want to talk about it I'm scared of what'll come out I ain't been by in a minute I hope you're doing fine Things get weird for a minute But they're coming back in the sight

And that's the band called Houndmouth from Indiana.

So, yeah, what did you think? It was pretty good.

Judah and the Lion.

Houndmouth.

Gwar.

Project Pat.
