For a fiber channel fabric, you also need FCHPS on a vSAN host.

even there we have a recommendation of having two hpas per host because uh if you have one fiber channel hpa with dual port there could be a uh how do i put it if a hpa fails there is no path of redundancy in that sense right so two hpa with two dual ports might be an ideal solution there But this doesn't discourage customers from having just one HBA with two ports.

That is a supported configuration as well.

But what we are saying is the recommended approach is having two HBAs per host as well.

So that way you're covered in terms of redundancy across the board.
