Horn Head

That evening, Keane hired a taxi in Letterkenny.

He asked to be taken to Horn Head, a remote peninsula on the coast outside Dunfanaghy, roughly an hour's drive from the town.

The fare came to 60 euros, and he paid it in cash.

The driver noted that he was carrying a plastic carrier bag.

He dropped Keane off at Horn Head at approximately half past 10 that night, and he drove away.

Horn Head, if you know Donegal, you know the place.

If you do not, it is a headland that pushes out into the Atlantic like a fist.

The cliffs there fall nearly 180 meters sheer, straight down into the sea.
