K
20:07Kimberly ArnoldGUEST
Uh, so I'm real- I'm actually really looking forward.
K
20:09Kimberly ArnoldGUEST
We just kicked off our Horizon Report for twenty twenty-seven, and really excited to look at the signals that the panels bring into that, because undoubtedly, they will be highly tied to AI and the practices that, that we're using in higher ed.

Yeah, and it is just the idea of, like, changing how you're teaching and what you're teaching.
D
20:31Dustin RamsdellHOST
You know, there's gonna be varying levels of impacts there, but it's-- 'Cause I guess it's just-- I know people are already, I think, getting some AI fatigue or whatever, just all this, like, pontificating and discussion and discourse, whatever.
D
20:43Dustin RamsdellHOST
But I think it is just that idea of, like, it's on par with either, [chuckles] like, you know, something like social media obviously, like, had a lot of sort of just, like, ripple effects and disruptions, or even just, like, the internet.
D
20:54Dustin RamsdellHOST
You know, just the idea of, like, you know, if you're doing stuff like Horizon Reports, you would just have to be like, "Yeah, this is, like, coming down the pipeline of just how is this gonna change, you know, what we teach and how we teach it." So I guess yet to be seen, you know, perhaps the, the level of, uh, the nature of the impacts.
D
21:10Dustin RamsdellHOST
I do think that it's fair to say that maybe there's been, like, you know, some over-hyping of, like, the immediate impacts, the idea that, like, you know, life as we know it is going to change, and people were saying that was gonna happen, like, last year or something.
D
21:21Dustin RamsdellHOST
But the idea of, like, it is making noticeable, you know, tangible, sizable impacts, so the idea of that idea of, like, yeah, we need, you know, capture, you know, the way that people are competent with these things.
Bonus: Breaking the Reactive Cycle in Higher Ed
N
1:48Nicole MuscanellGUEST
But basically, the, the main things I've had going on are just the, you know, the annual workforce and higher ed studies that we do, the students and technology studies, and then I'll be kicking off two new projects right after this conference.
N
2:03Nicole MuscanellGUEST
So, um, I'll have some projects coming out on-- related to the Horizon Report.
N
2:08Nicole MuscanellGUEST
And also right now we're saying AI and cybersecurity and privacy in higher ed, but we have not finalized, like, the specific topic.
N
2:17Nicole MuscanellGUEST
So that's kind of the mix of things that I'm working on.

Um, well, with our, with our original research, things like the, the Top 10, our Horizon Reports, our Workforce research, um, we are, um, trying to help our members keep a finger on the pulse of what's happening in higher education technology, uh, tracking the, the trends, the, the latest practices, challenges, opportunities.

Um, our, our hope is that through our research, through the content that we provide our members, um, they have the insights they need, uh, to make the important decisions at their institution, um, a- and, and to, to steer their institution in, in the right directions.

Yeah.
