That was a real problem.

The court under the leadership of then supervising, I'm sorry, presiding judge Samantha Jessner and our CEO, David Slayton, we looked at all kinds of options.

What could we do? And the thing that we wanted to do that seemed the wisest and most efficient would be to get the legislature to amend 69957 to permit electronic recording in at least some circumstances, if not all.

And we working with the bar, people probably listening to this very participated in a lobbying effort and the long and the short of it is even though a bill was drafted and considered, it died in committee and the legislature adjourned with this terrible problem still existing.

Um, so...

And I also know, I heard Sam- uh, Judge Jessner, Samantha Jessner, speak about this recently, um, at an event, and I will see her in court.

I, I'd had many matters in front of her recently, and she will ask, you know, the young lawyers, she will invite each counsel table to encourage them, you know, bring a younger lawyer, let them argue the motion.

And I've even seen her go far, go so far as to say, "I expect the in emotions in lemonade that you, uh, counsel won't be the only person arguing these motions, that you're going to defer to, you know, your whole trial team." So I think it takes that.
