Homestead-Miami Speedway

So the chase kind of fits it a little bit better.

I think it goes back to the roots a little bit, and it definitely rewards the consistency throughout the year and then once it starts, you know, instead of having the different rounds where it cuts down, it rewards consistency over that stretch where you truly are getting the best four drivers in that final race at Miami in the year.

So, you know, NASCAR's taken us to a lot of new markets for the first time.

We went to San Diego this year, we raced on the naval base out there, you know, a street course.

I mean, you got to think about the NASCAR schedule.

We started at Daytona.

And in our series we're running 33 races a year and will finish up at Homestead Miami in November.

It's the longest sports schedule on the circuit, so there's a lot to follow a lot to keep up with.

Finally, when...

I said when you're running for the championship at Homestead, Miami Speedway, it has been 18 months since we've been there.

What's your starting point when you look at, when you look at Homestead knowing it's been so long since we've been there?

And now we turn our attention towards the worldwide technology raceway.

That is coming up, um, this Sunday at 3:00, and Shawn, that means race two will soon be in the books because to remind all of our listeners out there, three races and then you take the top 12 move forward, the bottom four fall off, and then another three races, the top eight move on, the bottom three fall, four fall off, and then we go to the next round, the round of eight, and then it comes into the final four, round of four at Homestead Miami Speedway.

So, what will happen in race two? Uh, you have to tune in, and of course we'll be back to talk about it Monday.

Before we dive into the point standings of the NASCAR Cup Series, uh, Bob Pockrass, uh, which is-

But currently, we're just testing it out.

Just this past weekend, I was in Homestead Miami Speedway.

doing some testing in our new car.

So, uh, should be exciting.

Look at the tracks that eat tires for breakfast.

Hamlin isn't just a three-time winner at Homestead and a multi-time winner at Dover, he just proved it again a few weeks ago with a P3 finish at the return of Chicagoland Speedway.

These abrasive cheese grater surfaces force drivers to manage extreme lap-time fall-off, and no one controls the pace on worn-out asphalt better than the 11 does.

Coming off a P11 finish at the Lady in Black in the spring, history is overwhelmingly on his side and he is absolutely due for that top 5 again.

When looking at comparable high fall-off tracks, Redick is elite.

Take Miami, for instance.

At Homestead, he flat-out leads the charts in driver rating, mastering the transition from the outside fence better than almost anyone in modern NASCAR.

At the Lady in Black, Redick boasts the second-highest active driver rating and has stacked up the fourth-most stage points in the field.

But they have that mixture between super speedways, intermediates and short tracks.

and then crowning a champion at Homestead Miami Speedway in South Florida in early November.

It's going to be special.

So I'm looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out and selfishly watching as a fan for a little bit.

And that does open the door for a bigger, broader partnership opportunity with the Department of War, which we also announced about a week ago.

We'll be exploring other military installations across the country as we think about 28 and beyond.

And then I think the last but not least kind of moment in next year's schedule is a championship return to Homestead Miami Speedway.

So mile and a half racetrack.

Then it goes to Las Vegas, Charlotte, Phoenix, Talladega.

Martinsville Speedway in the penultimate race, and then NASCAR Championship Weekend has returned to Homestead Miami Speedway for at least the next two years.

November 8th is when, unless the points are already decided ahead of time, when we'll crown our NASCAR Cup Series champion.

Are there any tracks in this chase that you have marked down as places to watch, and are there anywhere that you have marked down as, let's just get out of there with a good finish?
