And my mom has always talked about HBCUs, but being from Los Angeles and California, you don't really see the effect of HBCUs unless you have someone telling you.

So my junior year, my mom took me to Homecoming, Morehouse-Bellman Homecoming.

And that definitely set me off on the right trail, seeing all these amazing black people.
