Well, going into that Baltimore series, that was Brad Bateman's amount of home runs he's hit in his professional and collegiate career.

Yeah.

Leading up to that moment.

God, that should have been, we'll get to it, but that should have been the season-changing home run.

After that,

he now holds the MLB record for the most home runs hit by a right-handed Japanese player in a season.

The Pete Alonso was all the memories.

You know, the course, the walk-off home run in game three of the wildcard series in 2024.

He did a great job editing out Devin Williams during that video.

If you watched it, you do not see Williams at all during that sequence, even though he's the guy with the pitching.

But they also had him breaking the rookie home run record, his home run derby stuff, him breaking the Mets club record last season.

They had all the great moments that, you know, we love Pete Alonzo.

And I don't want, before we really jump into it, I don't want anything to say that I don't like Pete Alonso.

They all did before and after the Mets.

First of all, them having the most whiffs in baseball on the splitter, that has not surprised me and Ryan at all.

They also have the most home runs off the splitter.

So it tells me if they can start judging where that pitch is, they can hit this pitch, Ryan.

Am I wrong here? Is that not what I'm seeing, that they'll just lay off that pitch? They'll get the splitter they can hit?

But hopefully everything kind of clicked when he hit the home run because it was a nice hanging changeup that he absolutely crushed off of Jacob Webb.

So hopefully, like Ozzie said, that gets him rolling in the right direction for the rest of the year because we need him in the rest of the year in playoffs.

Yeah, all three home runs were impressive.

Let's get to the last home run.

So the, so the Yankees, it just doesn't feel like it's gonna be the division, but we'll keep an eye on that.

But last night, you know, you hate to be repetitive, 'cause we did a lot of it yesterday, but Pete Alonso finally hit home run number 300, and he did it in grand fashion with one out in the bottom... or top half of the ninth inning, with the Mets, you know, trying to win a game and tie in a g- game they would eventually lose in extra innings.

And we kind of thought about, like how would the broadcast sound-

... because it's, even though they love Pete Alonso, and he's the former Met, and Howie Rose and Gary Cohen are very familiar with w- going on at Citi Field, where Citi Field became Camden Yards North, what would their calls be-

... of this home run? Well, the great Howie Rose, who right now is down to his last four games, right? He's got the game tonight, and then he's got the three games against the, uh, Philadelphia, or the four against Philadelphia.

He's setting the tone.

He he's done that several times in the first inning or first at bat, hidden homers hitting a, you know, a big Homer to get them on the board.

And I think that's what he's bringing the giants right now.

This year it's a 337 BABIP with a 79% left on base and a 58% ground ball rate.

So nearly the same profile.

And he's given up a few more home runs, which obviously that's a variance thing that you can pick your knits at however you wish.

They had a lead going into the top of the ninth, a three to two lead.

But then Pete Alonso came to the plate, and he hit a game-tying home run, a solo shot.

Mm-hmm.

And it was significant for multiple reasons.

One, it tied the game in the ninth inning, and the Orioles did go on to win seven to five.

It was also the 300th career home run for Pete Alonso, and it was Pete Alonso of the Baltimore Orioles homering against the franchise that he has hit almost all of his 300 home runs for.

He has 36 home runs for the Orioles this season, all the others for the Mets.

And believe it or not, when he homered for the O's, there were some Mets fans in attendance who cheered and were happy for him because it was his 300th career home run, and many fans love Pete Alonso.
