Holsworthy

Mm-hmm.

When I was living in Sydney, um, a suburb called Holsworthy.

Yeah.

Um, near Holsworthy Barracks.

Mm-hmm.

And I went out and bought, um, uh, some G-string Bonds.

Yeah, right, and when you did join, how long was Kapooka?

Sorry, yeah, so I did my IETs out of Holsworthy, so...

It was where, back in World War II, they used to put a lot of the, you know, there were so many enlistments.

They come up with, I think it was two training group.

and then

we did another training day out at at Holsworthy at the army base there.

I did one out there and got him there and that's when he had Amber.

We had this, it was a really steep hill and I put the offender at the top of the hill with a sleeve on and the dog loses sight and had to send the dog up and the handler had to run up the hill and got him up there.

And, uh, yeah, that was-

Mate, what was that like when you marched into three RAR, mate, down at, uh, Holsworthy back in 2005? What, how were you received?

Pretty ...

Um, I didn't have an issue with it.

There's always, there's always that counter of their sacrifice.

100%.

So you come back from a really challenging first, first deployment over to Afghanistan, and you get back to, you get back to Holsworthy, and how are you traveling mentally at this point?

In hindsight, not great.
