Holocaust education

What do you think students are learning about Jews without being taught? And tell us a little bit about what you wish they would learn.

This is something I learned about When I was doing research on Holocaust education in America, which is a whole chapter of the book, which was the sort of investigative reporting I did.

Null curriculum is a concept that is, it's an educational philosophy idea that says that what is not taught in school is also part of the curriculum.

because you're essentially telling students, you're not saying don't warn this, you're saying don't warn it from me.

So it's like what, let's say sex education was a few generations ago, like teachers weren't saying don't warn about sex, they were saying, warn about sex from your older brother, do not talk to me about it.

And so what I realized was that the only thing in this sort of, I traveled around the country researching this topic of Holocaust education, and I want to be clear also to your listeners, I'm not arguing against Holocaust education.

If anything, it's more essential than ever now that Holocaust denial has been massively resurging.

But what I saw was that even in schools where there was adequate and well-done Holocaust education, literally this is the only thing people learned about Jews at all.
