What can I tell you? 57 years old, just retired, and worked as a doctor, a GP in Holmfirth since 95, 96.

Loved it.

Absolutely loved the job, loved the patience.

going on with that? It's astonishing because Huddersfield has seemed to think, or has forgotten its architectural past.

If you go into Huddersfield Town Centre, you look up, there's some wonderful buildings there, and I'm sure many of them are listed, but it doesn't seem to have a civic sense of pride anymore.

The residents of Holmfirth were quite aghast when we were putting an application in to demolish what they thought should be a listed building.

That probably took us three, three and a half years through planning.

Bit of an old-timer show, but this theme tune and everything around it was part of everyone's life.

And that is set in Holmfirth.

And as a bit of an Easter egg and a love letter to Holmfirth, the cafe, which was the central place where they would meet, is actually featured in the movie.

All be

darned.

It's just adorable.

They just view it as just, you know, another appendage to their life.

yeah and it was really fun and it's great to see because when we went and shot that walking into Holmfirth a quaint beautiful village winding roads and it was just and there's a little lake that runs through it a stream and dogs everywhere and then suddenly you've got this these beasts that are towering above the walls so you can see the backs of them.

Curiosity and obstinacy drew Casper from the safety of the ship and into the narrow lanes of the valley.

He had borrowed a thick coat from supplies, its brass buttons clicking shut as he made his way down towards the town.

Holmfirth was alive with sound, the hum of looms behind mill walls, the clip of clogs on cobbled streets, voices softened by a dialect he only half understood, and smoke from coal fires hung low over the town.

He wandered past a row of cottages and, through one window dulled by soot, saw a scene that made him pause.

It was like, wow, this is, I don't believe it.

You know, I'm this guy from Holmfirth in Yorkshire.

I came back from Holmfirth up in Yorkshire where last the Summer Wine was filmed.

Last week, coming down through Holmfirth, it was the usual car park of slow-moving traffic.

This, this is, this is a different country and a different context and, you know, if you live at the far side of Huddersfield, to travel to the far side of Dewsbury, which is right on the Wakefield border, it, uh, would take, you know, it'd probably take an hour if you get from Holmfirth, 45 minutes minimum to get to that game.

And if you can't get the crowd in Huddersfield, then you ain't gonna get the crowd in Dewsbury, are you? So-

well phil wrote in and said hello joe a up mfc yorkshire and he said just to let you know that the yorkshire mfc group met in leeds for the first time in yorkshire day one in August seven of us the seven as they're calling them spent a wonderful afternoon together sharing food he says Christian types are the tops of bring and share lunches and conversation hearing and sharing in one another's journeys openly sharing the sadness and heartaches of our experiences lots of playful bants and also roaring with laughter too he says and now we have a whatsapp group where even more have joined we are meeting again on the 7th of November near to Holmfirth in West Yorkshire, and he asked if we could give him a shout out.
