Now let's break down how the founder turned an idea into a real business.

It all kicked off in nineteen ninety-two when Daymond and his three friends were hanging out at Hollis, Queens sketching T-shirts for the neighborhood's hip hop crew.

They weren't aiming to launch a new label.

They just wanted something that said, "We're part of this scene, not outsiders pulling cash from us." That core idea, making clothes by and for the culture became the engine behind FUBU or For Us By Us as they called it.
