Holger Rune

So certainly another opportunity for Struff to make an ATP Final.

On the bottom half of the draw, we had an entertaining match between Vachero and Rune.

And a couple of things I want to say about Rune is that I'm pleased that he's showing more freedom in his movement.

This is for sure the best tennis I've seen him play since his comeback.

If you haven't heard by now, Rune tore his Achilles about a year ago at the tournament in Stockholm.

And when he first came back on tour, he did pretty good in Davis Cup.

He took out Dimitrov and another Bulgarian player that was ranked 500 or so.

But following that, at the tournament in Tokyo, Rune only collected four games against Jacquet and he did not move well in that match.

Can't wait to find out who is in and who is out.

lastly set number five where we couldn't leave out a couple big names and one that you may have never heard first we got stan warinka playing his final match of his career on tuesday at home in basel the 41-year-old warinka ended his career with 16 titles three majors and a career high of number three if you want a great summary of stan's career john wertheim put together a tribute on the served instagram link is in the description go check it out now from farewell to i'm back baby friend of the show holger rune won his first atp match since rupturing his achilles last october by beating quentin hollis in basel this week making it 373 days between wins however rune wasn't done there knocking out 10th seed hubi herkacz to reach the quarterfinals as well what an awesome return for the dane speaking of incredible feats this one is from someone you probably have never heard of Matthew Della Vidova, the Australian tennis player currently ranked 237 in the world, achieved his 100th win of the 2026 season this week after beating Lachlan Vickery at the World Tennis M25 in Tamworth.

Bet you guys didn't see that one.

This brings us to our tiebreak trivia of the week.

You had a couple of seeds knocked out already as well.

Of course, Hubi Hurkantz knocked out 7-6 in the third by Holger Rune.

Rune, 7-6 in the third in back-to-back matches, beats Quentin Hallis in round number one.

Hurkantz in round two, a couple of big servers for Rune to face.

So again, maybe the simplicity of that matchup, you could see it just made the decisive movements easier for Holger Rune, knowing again, He's going to be staring down the barrel of attacking tennis the entirety of the match.

But tennis world is better when Holgaruna is at his healthiest.

And I still think for a guy who's under 24 years old, like let's not forget that 2023 clay courts.

I watched a lot of those young players in Portugal because they all played here.

Rune, Muzeti, Davidovic, Deminor, they all played here.

Felix, Jorge, Ali, Asim, they all played as teenagers here, but there was nothing compared to Alcaraz and the kind of player, the kind of...

I actually don't like the word too much, but you can use the word Haura with Alcaraz because he had it at 17.

We've also got the final pushes here with Vienna and Basel into Paris, where we'll have all the top players, as we said.

Also, a big shout-out to Holger Rune today, winning his first match in over a year.

Just about a year, I should say, over Quintin Hollis.

So there's another guy who's had the issue last year with the Achilles, and he just felt horrible for one of the rising stars in the game.
