Hokitika Museum

Pieces from the Great Boulder were distributed to museums and collectors.

The historical account records a slab going to Hokitika Museum and another at Shantytown.

The boulder became several objects, capable of being seen and studied in different places.

The question was no longer only where ruby rock had come from, it was how such an unlikely object could have existed in the first place.
