Hoia Forest

Anyway, never mind all that.

Um, today we are gonna talk about Hoia Baciu.

Hoia Banch what?

Hoia Baciu.

Hoia Baciu.

Cool.

This is a spooky Romanian forest, but it looks like-

It's the lousy of them.

Measurements have not supported these hypotheses.

The gravitational field in the Hoia Baciu forest is consistent with the surrounding terrain.

Magnetic measurements show nothing unusual.

The trees are genuinely growing in unusual patterns, and the cause is genuinely unresolved.

It does not intend anything.

It is simply the product of forces, wind, water, temperature, time, acting on biological material over centuries, and the product happens to be beautiful and strange and capable of removing your sense of direction in minutes.

The Hoia Baciu Forest does not know that it is haunted.

It does not know that people have told stories about it, filmed documentaries in it, conducted seances in it, set up electromagnetic field detectors in it, and left it shaking their heads at readings that turned out to be within normal parameters.

Shall we go a little bit further? We didn't go that far, did we? So we're gonna go further along this path, deep into the forest.

I think this forest is probably a lot more haunted than Hoia Baciu, definitely, because it's more remote.

It's not a place that humans visit very often.

And the trowel that we're on is starting to disappear slowly.

Today, we're heading into Transylvania, Romania, to a patch of woods locals call the Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania, Hoia Baciu Forest.

Hoia Baciu sits just outside Cluj-Napoca, a city in northwestern Romania, and covers roughly two and a half square kilometers of oak woodland.

The area has real history underneath the legend.

So when we went to Transylvania, there's a forest there called Hoya Forest, and it's a similar thing.

People are really funny about mentioning Scooby-Doo.

That's actually interesting.

When I was in Transylvania at the Hoya Forest, the guy was saying that.

He said, whenever we started talking about ghosts and stuff, or kind of ghost things, I can't remember exactly, he would stop and be like, I don't want you talking about it here.
