The project is part of the Japanese government's efforts to shore up the domestic supply chain at a time when tensions over chips are growing between the United States and China.

The governor of Western Japan's Hiroshima Prefecture has spotlighted local specialties at an event in London.

The prefectural government was among the organizers of the gathering, held at a restaurant on Tuesday.

About 20 people were invited, including some from restaurants and importers of Japanese foods.

In May, he attended an imperial banquet for the first time to welcome the Philippine president and his wife, who were visiting Japan as state guests.

The prince also took part in one of the country's largest training camps for Boy Scouts held in Hiroshima Prefecture last month, where he gave his first speech.

いやいや、最初、最初阪神広島、それ、阪神広島見に行きたいって言ってて、言ってて、で行くわって言ってたんやけど、ちょっと調べたら花火大会がちょっと新幹線、広島駅から、まあ、福山駅っていう。

福山ね。

花火。で、ちょうど奥さんがお盆で福岡帰ってたから、で、ちょうど東京に帰る日やったんやな。

あー、そっか。

で、飛行機をちょっとキャンセルして、新幹線で広島で降りてもらって、一緒に花火大会に行くって。
