Hiroshi Suzuki

It's Tuesday, September the 29th.

Andy Burnham, the first prime minister built for Instagram, the political answer to TikTok, has been paid the ultimate compliment by an influencer, a tribute from fellow political social media legend, the Japanese Ambassador to London, Hiroshi Suzuki, uh, who goes around Britain filming himself enthusing about its culture and quirks for social media audiences in large numbers, has been at Labor Party conference in Liverpool, enjoying a pint in the Number 10 North Pub, and posted a picture of himself with Burnham in person, as well as turning up to the Sky party, where I met him.

It is an honor to be in the presence of two such social media giants in Liverpool.

So on this speech day, the big moment, the question is whether Andy Burnham can do what Hiroshi Suzuki does every day of the week, stand in front of a British audience, say something enthusiastic, and still be liked at the end of it.
