Hirooki Goto

Copeland knocks it off its bucket list.

The only person else I could think of is Hiroki Goto, but...

Really, this is the only time we're going to have Satoshi Kojima in conversation on the show.

So I figured I'd ask you now before we move on and it just becomes a random topic later on.

and injury, brother.

Yeah, it just never panned out the way everybody had hoped.

Anyway, at the show next, Bishamon, Hiroki Goto, and Yoshihashi teamed up to wrestle Kumagoro Hokai, who is a comedy wrestler and lonely wolf.

Lonely Wolf, another masked wrestler, which was an unconvincing disguise for Aaron Wolf, I have to say.

There's really nothing adventurous to talk about there.

Instead, I want to talk about a man who was in that movie for like three minutes, and is the only reason I'm interested in it at all, and that is Hiroki Goto.

who is my favorite Japanese pro wrestler in the world.

He has been a pro wrestler for 22 years, and he was famous for being the guy who, despite having legions of fans, could never ever win the big match.

And he finally got his moment.

And it's like, it's one of those reasons why I watch pro wrestling.

Like Hiroki Goto is the fucking man.

Aramusha, Samurai Dad, love it.

But many illustrious wrestlers were in this movie, including the likes of Top Guys, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes,

and Hiroki Goto.

So he played E. Honda, who is a larger man than Goto, believe it or not, and is, of course, a sumo wrestler who has the fast hands, who is, you know, and he has the spear move, you know, and he does the flippy flops, which Goto does not do.

He does it in the movie, but he doesn't do that in real life unless he's facing Ossie Open.

If you were to do that in Sumo Hall, I think that is a big statement for that IWGP Women's Championship.

The IWGP Women's Championship is in an interesting state because obviously New Japan are no longer under BushiRoad, which does call into question, and I know we've got Shingo and Hirooki Goto turning up on Crimson Nightmare, but that's more to do with a personal relationship between-

Sure

...

That's my forgetting.

You're forgetting former IWGP heavyweight champion Hiroki Goto, who played E-Honda.

Deep cut.

I did not know that, actually.

I was like, okay, I know what this movie is going to be.

They turn into a bucket.

To be honest, I don't understand why they cast Hiroki Goto as E. Honda.

I'm actually a big fan of a TV show that came out a couple years ago in Japan called Sanctuary.

We're like, okay, that's fine.

I'm like, oh shit, Hiroki Goto.

I was like, why are they putting a bunch of wrestlers in this?

Yeah, we're like, Goto, they got Goto as E. Honda?

oh okay

and i was like i don't know if this is gonna work it feels like a bit like they're trying to just make it ip like kind of make a lot of money and pop a few a few million out of this um it's got obviously a big wrestling connection so you have Cody Rhodes in it obviously he's going everywhere promoting this dress as Guile you've got Roman Reigns is in it and you actually have to work to figure out which one Roman Reigns is it's actually got new Japan wrestler Hiroki Goto in it so keep your eye out for Goto as well yeah which is mad when I saw his name in the cast and just a hodgepodge and then the main actors are more recent young actors but you'll know them from things and you'll be like oh but they're really really good um it's made with love it's made to feel like a 90s street fighter game and it's very very funny it's kind of got the same thing that made mortal kombat barbie uh i thought of dungeons and dragons it's the same kind of vibe as that um but they just got it right and if it's for you if you think you might like it if you've got some nostalgia for street fighter this does it the right way because they love Street Fighter 2 and everyone bought in.

It's just really entertaining.

The plot is a bit all over the place.
