Hiram M. Chittenden

There were descriptions resembling a swarm of bees, distant metallic vibrations, and faint musical notes.

Engineer Hiram Chittenden said, later wrote about the strange and difficult to define sounds around Yellowstone.

The particularly interesting part of these accounts was that the sounds sometimes seemed to move.

It could begin faintly somewhere in the distance and become progressively stronger, seem to pass overhead and then fade in the other direction.
