HipChat

They were amongst the first chatbots in the world.

From 2015, the first chatbots for Slack, HipChat, Skype, Messenger, and Telegram.

I was given talks at developer conferences, trying to encourage developers to build these chatbots like ChatGPT with ethical design in the foundation and thinking about the future.

So I have designed a chatbot plugin for messaging services right so the one for messenger was used by al jazeera you just post a link and it told you if it belonged to a website or social media account that was classified as disinformation far left far right satiric or mainstream that it was the stupidest dumbest bot you'd ever come across that's the only thing it could do so i i know the tech stack And I've built bots like conceptually the chat GPT for Apple messages.

Their game, Glitch, failed.

But the internal chat tool they built to communicate while developing the game was so much better than anything else available, like Campfire or HipChat, that they pivoted hard.

They realized the tool had more value than the game itself.

That's a classic pivot story.
