Have you ever heard of Hipcamp? I'm guessing no.

No.

Hipcamp is, like, an app.

Okay.

It's like Airbnb for camping.

But there's an interesting change this year specifically for RVers.

For the first time, HipCamp has split what used to be one RV and van category into best RV and trailer sites and best van and overland spots.

For RVs and trailers, HipCamp says it specifically looked for positive feedback about things such as hookups and amenities for larger rigs.

Among this year's winners are Asheville Area Luxury Solo RVing in Fletcher, North Carolina, a private RV site with hookups, an outdoor kitchen, and even a hot tub.

And Upriver Paradise Private Retreat in Blue River, Oregon, which sits along the McKenzie River and can accommodate multiple RVs.

The new van and overland category puts more emphasis on privacy, open spaces, and the kinds of places that smaller, more capable rigs can reach.

One of those winners is The Lookout in Washington, a mountainside camping property overlooking Clear Lake with its own private mountain bike trails.

HipCamp has become an increasingly interesting option for RV travelers because a lot of these places aren't really campgrounds in the conventional sense.

So everyone that we talk to is out and about travelling.

So that would be awesome.

How about farm stays, Hipcamp, RV rentals, campsite rentals? Right next door to me, there's a tiny house community with 14 tiny homes, and then she charges $1,450 a month.

They're fully occupied, so they're making like $17,000, $18,000 a month on 20 acres, right? So less than a tenth the size of this.

I could totally do that.

Last week on the show, we talked about ways to save money by exploring different camping options as well as saving money on booking your campsites.

If you missed last week's episode, some of the things we covered for saving money on camping options was just like camping at different times of the year, Staying on different days of the week, exploring different platforms for camping like, you know, Airbnb or Hip Camp, subscription camping.

And then as for saving money on booking, we talked about how you can save money by booking in advance or even registering through specials that the campground will run at like RV shows or at the end of the season for the next year.

So this week, we are gonna cover the rest of our strategies, or the rest of our strategy, I should say, and this is regarding how to save money on your meals for when you're camping, and also how to save money on entertainment and activities when you're on the camping trip.
