Not even the best science fiction film of the 80s.

Highlander.

Highlander? The subtitles in Highlander? Highlander 2? Highlander 2 will have its day, I hope.

Highlander did not.

They made no comments about aliens in Highlander.

Highlander 2, they did a bunch of retcon, and that's where they brought in the aliens, and everybody hated Highlander 2.

Besides, I think that came out in 1990, didn't it? I think that is true.

In 1995, Christopher Lambert traded his Highlander sword for a whole new nightmare in an action thriller that somehow slipped through the cracks.

And believe it or not, this violent ninja movie came from the same writer who gave us Pretty Woman.

So was The Hunted an overlooked 90s action classic, or did it deserve to be disappeared into the shadows? Today, we're finding out because this is Retro Life for You, and we're taking you back to 1995 for The Hunted.

This is a Hidden Gem from the 90s.

It's an action flick.

And, you know, when you hear the star of the movie, Christopher Lambert, A lot of the people say, they think and say to themselves, Highlander.

I mean, Highlander 1 was okay, but Highlander 2 and 3 were awful.

You know? Okay.

It was a terrible movie, and the only reason I saw it was because Christopher Lambert was in it, and I was a huge Highlander fan.

And then Patrick Stewart shows up, and suddenly, in this ridiculously bad movie, there's these little puddles of excellence.

Every time he was on screen, you know, Patrick Stewart hanging his way through some awful fucking dialogue and really bad writing.

But they're shooting a lot of things like literally on the fly, obviously way out of order as you can get actors to do what they can.

I think Christopher Lambert, which a quick story about Christopher Lambert, probably the biggest movie he's known for here is Highlander.

All right.

That's what I recognize him from.

Yeah.

When he did Highlander, he did not speak English.

Oh, really? He would learn.

So I encourage people to go back and watch that movie and just to see the way he speaks because he learned his lines phonetically, but he didn't understand what he was saying.
