Higher Ground Productions

Executive produced by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

Production company, Higher Ground Productions.

So

I think we need to be able to get the facts right and allow the film to serve its purpose.

I'm talking about, for instance, you mentioned Barack Obama earlier.

His media company, Higher Ground Production, has been releasing some very interesting projects lately.

that sort of reframe narrative power, right? This new documentary that's coming out about Ghana, the first president of Ghana, his camera person.

And then I'm thinking about the one before that, Leave the World Behind, that really got my attention.

But- I did not know that he recently teamed up with Barack and Michelle Obama's production company to put together a documentary about Ghana's rich history.

The documentary is called The Eyes of Ghana, and it's scheduled for a special theatrical release on October 28th, 2026, through the Obama's Higher Ground Productions.

The film shows historic moments surrounding Ghana's independence and Africa's liberation movements during the 1950s and the 1960s.

And according to the Jasmine Brand, the documentary previously premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.

Okay, next up, we have our conversation with Coach Jackie.

In case you're unfamiliar, she is a women's sports content creator and podcast host of the new pod Is She Game? It's by Higher Ground Productions and Run Amok.

She joined us in the studio two weeks ago to talk about her new show, her beef with Derek Hough- [laughs] ... and so much more.

So without further ado, here is Coach Jackie

I really want to recommend it.

Made by, uh, Higher Ground Productions.

It's a look at MAGA America in a way.

It's the true story, uh, of a, a, a Chinese billionaire who moved in to a d- a closed GM, General Motors factory in Dayton, Ohio.

He's been great lately.

Yeah, but on the production side, the Obamas' Higher Ground Productions teamed up with Laika.

Laika?

The stop-motion animation studio.

It's gonna rely on dialogue and performance rather than traditional action to bridge that structural gap.

That makes a ton of sense.

And speaking of the Obamas' Higher Ground Productions-

Yeah
