Highbury Stadium

I just wanna get this wrapped up and done, albeit this will probably still be an hour.

Let's start at Highbury, Fleetwood Town.

They're back at home in this one after their 1-all draw against Walsall last week.

They're playing a Rotherham United side that have lost their last two league games.

Why the heck not? On special kits then, could be a bit of a collector's item.

Fleetwood Town have put out a commemorative shirt ahead of our League Cup clash at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday 27th of October.

They've produced a dedicated Puma shirt to mark what promises to be one of the standout occasions of their season.

The shirt retains the club's instantly recognisable red and white colours but introduces several details specifically commemorating the Arsenal fixture.

Followed up with us a home game against Everton on Saturday the 24th.

And then the month's finishes off with a trip to Highbury, guys.

To play Fleetwood.

Well, one of the most niche trips you could possibly want to do that I assume Alan has already booked his hotel in neighboring Blackpool.

I've got a quick Fleetwood story, actually.

So I've been there at least one too many times.

The ground is called Highbury because it's on Highbury Avenue.

They play in red and white because once they had named their ground Highbury, they thought, why not go the whole hog and play in red and white? And the owner and chairman that I knew at the time said, when they won the conference and got their Football League status, is actually serving 13 years in jail for mis-selling energy as part of an operation that was run out of the club offices.

Good morning Gunners, so post my recording yesterday, Arsenal were drawn at away to Fleetwood and we get to go and play at Highbury Stadium for the first time since 2006 and I was questioning in some groups, I was like surely one of the team who played on the final game at Highbury could give us five minutes in the in the Carabao Cup and see what we could put together so the team that started the final day against Wigan was Jens Lehmann we had Emmanuel Oboe at right back, Sol Campbell, Cole O'Toole at centre back, Ashley Cole at left back.

With a midfield of Fabregas, Leb, Gilberto Silva, Robert Pires and up front we had Thierry Henry and Jose Antonio Reyes.

And I thought, you know, Henri was asked on, you know, CBS.

How long could he give? I could give him five minutes.

So, yeah, let's get Henry back, register him as a free agent for that game, and Henry gets to play at Highbury one more time.

Highbury Stadium, Fleetwood, has a capacity of 5,327.

You know, I kind of thought, yeah, it was... are we having some time travel but a couple of people saying no Fleetwood Town Stadium can't be called Highbury that's ours but yeah seemingly it is I haven't been able to see was there some reason was it named after the Arsenal Stadium historically but no apparently it was named after Highbury Avenue which runs alongside the ground So, sadly no romantic that, you know, an Arsenal fan bought the club or anything like that and so on and so forth.
