Hig

Small, isolated pockets of humans still remain, but the cities are overrun with weeds and wild dogs.

Former mechanic, now Cessna pilot Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, flies recon along with his faithful dog Jasper, acquiring supplies and assisting anybody who he can.

He also provides recon for the home base airfield he resides at with ex-marine survivalist Bangley, played by Josh Brolin, warning of any approaching dangers.

such as the quote-unquote Reapers, a marauding band of psychos who are burning and killing everything in their wake.

But Higg and Bangley have food, they've got shelter, they've got weapons, and they've got the means to acquire more.

And so if anything now passes for the American dream in this world, this is it.

However, unfulfilled, Higg yearns for more.

He's looking not just to survive, but to find something some kind of hope to make life actually worth living.

Most of the population was wiped out by a virus, and the people that are left live in communes trying to defend what they have from crazed cultists who roam the landscape wreaking havoc.

Our main character is Jacob Elordi's Hig, who lives in a compound with his friend Josh Brolin.

And despite being the post-apocalypse, it doesn't seem to be so bad there.

They've got plenty of space, they've got plenty of supplies, they're well-armed, and they have a little Cessna airplane.

I liked the way that different communities have come together to try to defend themselves from the insane cultists running around.

And the insane cultists felt like a real threat.

But Hig here isn't so satisfied with his life with Josh Brolin.

He wants to find a larger civilization so one day he sets out.

It's based on a novel by Peter Heller.

Now, the post-apocalyptic story set on the Front Range is a movie.

Jacob Elordi stars as Hig.

[wind howling] Before the world ended, I was kissing my wife, playing with my dog.

Jasper, come here.

And, uh, the credits rolled, and I, I saw this raptor flying among the mountains, and I, you know, I just had tears just streaming down my cheek, you know, revisiting this world that I have.

You know, it's funny.

When you're writing fiction the way I do, and it's so immersive, Hig and Jasper live in my heart like a brother and like a dog that I've had and that I miss.

And so revisiting that world, even in a different medium, was so, so moving.

to read the names as well? Because I think the names are kind of intriguing.

So Jacob Elordi plays Hig.

Josh Brolin plays Bangley.

The Dog Stars take us into a world where most of humanity has been wiped out by a devastating pandemic.

At the center of the story is Hig, a young pilot who has managed to survive alongside military survivalist Bagley, played by Josh Brolin.

But when Hig picks up a mysterious radio transmission...

He ventures beyond the isolated world they created in search of something that might still exist out there, hope and humanity.

And Plan Hig is the man Dupu's Nation needs to keep an eye on, Jacob Elordi.

Jacob Elordi is our main character, Hig, and he's okay.

Honestly, weakest link in the movie in my opinion.

Like, he, he's a little off.

Phenomenal.

Phenomenal character.

He's a little wary of our main character, Higgs, in the beginning and then he slowly grows on him and, and Pops grows on you as, as a character.

Fucking awesome.

How did you find the characters? Did you find them engaging?

I like the characters of Hig, Bangley, Seema and Pops.

But my interest did start to wane near the end of the movie.

I think also, as soon as I realised this was all going to be like drama, because like you, I haven't read the book.

That's going to be it.

They're going to be the guys who survive.

Yeah, I mean, Bangley is someone who is obviously, he's an ex-Marine, and even Higg tells him, you love this, you love being in the apocalypse.

This confirms everything you did before, because you did get the impression that he was prepping for this.
