Hideyuki Kikuchi

countless depictions of him throughout japanese literature um in movies a sunny chiba played him famously in a lot of movies he's usually depicted with an eye patch there's always a reason why he lost an eye uh but but yeah so this movie is interesting because um before this movie i would say mostly Yoshiaki Kawajiri didn't write original material or takes on famous literature.

He actually did straight up adaptations of a certain novelist named Hideyuki Kikuchi.

Like Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, and Vampire Hunter D are all novels written

by that guy.

Yeah.

And there's a new Vampire Hunter D comic co-written by original creator Hideyuki Kikuchi and Chris Condon with Felipe Andrade.

I know nothing about this

So, Demon City Shinjuku, this is based on a novel by Hideyuki Kikuchi, who we discussed previously with the original Vampire Hunter D anime, and directed by a director who we have not covered yet.
