Yeah, Adam's a real I'll-take-care-of kind of guy.

On the 28th of November, Zara's obituary ran in the Hickory Daily Record.

They had a memorial service at a funeral home chapel on the 2nd of December, and Adam made that private.

On the 18th of January 2011, a grand jury indicted Elisa Baker for bigamy.

You see, he'd been working as a wildlife officer for the state of North Carolina for 17 years, and this wasn't his first brush with death.

According to the Hickory Daily Record, earlier in his career, Dewey had taken a nasty fall after a cliff gave way beneath him at nearby Harmon Den Wildlife Management Area.

During that incident, his right arm had been severely injured, and he never regained use of it.

Still, folks who knew him said that his physical disability never got in the way of him fulfilling his duties, and it didn't seem to deter him from passionately doing the work he loved.

In the aftermath of his murder, people raised money to help provide for his widow, Amelia, and to fund the education of their three sons: 17-year-old Steve, 15-year-old Harold, and 7-year-old David.

The fund was aptly named The Friends of Dewey McCall Fund, and one of the organizers, a Charlotte attorney and avid angler named Jack Mraz, told the Hickory Daily Record that pulling together money for the fallen officer's family just seemed like the most appropriate thing to do given the circumstances and the fact that Dewey was so well-regarded.

Jack himself would bump into Dewey from time to time while fishing, and he told the newspaper that, in his opinion, Dewey seemed to enforce wildlife laws equally amongst all sportsmen.

Jack said he was also very dedicated to his job, despite it not being the easiest profession for him given the limited use of his right arm.
