the air traffic things they'd know what this rain was doing they'd have estimates of the power and phone companies of the damage to the lines and when they'd be back in service The radio would tell her everything she needed to know, then a calm announcement to the guests, and everybody would go to bed cheerfully, rather enjoying the excitement.

Now, given such a relic, a few old Buddhist monks can set up a shrine which, even in the most miserable surroundings, can attract enough pilgrims to outgross Radio City, Madison Square Garden, and Miami Beach in season.

So very fortunate that we got that plane and that we got a welcome to the United States with, with open arms.

Um, since essentially, like, you know, most Cubans, they either go to Hialeah, Miami, or they head up north, uh, I wanna say to like New Jersey somewhere.

Uh, but we ended up, uh, obviously in the, in the Hialeah area.

So, uh, born and raised there, uh, till I was 18.

Essentially, you know, uh, I went to, uh, private school, which was a bilingual Cuban American school, so my, my upbringing was always sort of that, that dual US-Cuban heritage, um, you know, speaking Spanglish in the streets of Hialeah.

Um, and then, um, you know, just to, to mention, raised, uh, who, um, by essentially was, like, my, my stepdad.

Uh, my mom never married, but, uh, w- you know, for all intents and purposes we'll call him Mr.

Um, and so in 1991, um, [lips smack] uh, or the year earlier, I joined the Marine Corps.
