Um, that wasn't something we could argue about.

We left our fifty thousand dollars of professional equipment behind, and they filmed the interview on a, on a Hi8 video camera that they had, and they gave us the tapes.

And obviously, I didn't wanna lose those tapes, um, and, uh, we took them b- you know, took it back to, to the w- to United States, edited the piece, and it went out in May of 1997.

Basically, no one paid any attention because at that point, it wasn't clear that bin Laden had really done anything.

There was

also the Hi8s, which were in between.

But I never went there.

You bring up a great point, but I want to just quickly, I want to circle back to what you just said, but I want to ask first about, so you show a bunch of footage with their Hi8 cameras from when they were kids, which I used to have one of those.

It was great and I loved it.

I had a lot of fun with that.

I didn't have that technology.

But we had a little Hi8 video camera that we recorded when they were itty-bitty.

And I was coming across these tapes as I was packing things up and I had like, I popped one of those tapes in and it was, I think Macy was probably five and Grace was three and it was them playing in the yard.

And just their little chipmunk.

Did you do that, did you do that with actual film camera when you were a kid or?

No, I grew up in the kinda like VHS, uh, Hi8 era.

Okay.

So I was-- I didn't shoot film until I was like in college, and that was a huge mistake 'cause I, [chuckles] I just, I told my parents that, uh, "I need to make a 16-millimeter short film because it's important, and I, I have to do this as a rite of passage," and they were like, "This is a huge mistake," and I didn't listen, and I just burnt so much money.

I, I taped that set.

I had, like, a Hi8 camcorder tape of it.

I wish I still had those tapes.

They got lost.

VHS, Hi8, all of those formats.

Cassettes, if you have audio cassettes, they'll transfer all that over, and they'll just put it onto a USB stick or a USB drive.

If you have one of your own, take it to them.

I could sit in deer stands and video deer sometimes, do that kind of stuff.

So I had what they called a Hi8 video camera, which at the time was top of the line.

It's so grainy now, it's ridiculous.

And so I got my wife to bring it up.
