Belinda DovestonHOST
4:00
So let's get into what we're being asked to pay attention to this week keeping in mind that the theme for September is steady slow wonderful progress.
Belinda DovestonHOST
4:10
Okay our first hexagram for this week is hexagram 37 the family.
Belinda DovestonHOST
4:19
Yes, we had this hexagram twice last month and here it returns.
Belinda DovestonHOST
4:25
The family is all about reconnecting us, not just with family or our physical genetic family, but the idea of family, of a club, of a group, of a cohort, of family a group of people who live and work together, okay? Your work family, your home family, your friend family, your crafts group family, whatever family looks like for you, we are being asked to be a great family member and to lean into the power of the family.
Zoe Vita-JamesHOST
35:43
So that day is Saturday the 3rd of October.
Richard AshworthHOST
35:48
Interestingly, it brings in hexagram number 33 for five days at that point.
Richard AshworthHOST
35:53
Hexagram number 33 is done the yielding.
Richard AshworthHOST
35:56
It's two yin lines at the bottom and then four yang lines.
Zoe Vita-JamesHOST
35:59
So yin, yin, yang, yang, yang, yang, yang.
Belinda DovestonHOST

As we always do before we get stuck into unpacking how the I Ching is helping us grow and flourish for the week ahead, let us cast our minds back to last week.
Belinda DovestonHOST

We had cold turning into diamonds we were all under extreme pressure last week with hexagram 28 great pressure really asking ourselves the important question of how do we respond under pressure how is our stress management strategy working out for us what do we need to do differently to shore up the foundation and prevent everything from falling over four changing lines it really felt like bam bam bam bam the energy was coming in and challenging us to grow despite this pressure and realizing that the pressure is coming from the new things that we're attempting the new directions we're pushing ourselves into and we just need to find a way to shore up our energy plus working with the family once again the month of august bookended by the family hexagram 37 coming to bring us awareness how to put the family into place into position and find energy through the harmonious working of the home with the people we live and work together.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:44
How did that manifest for you? Well, for all those changing lines and great pressure, I felt like my cheeks were flapping in a high speed tornado.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:55
And I thought, oh, I've said to all these people, how do you respond under pressure? Best, I understand that too.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:04
I did not enjoy it.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:05
So happy to move off this energy and hoping that we all lent into the pressure we became diamonds this week as the pressure turned our coal in our consciousness into diamonds beautiful faceted diamonds if anything came up for you this past week please do share right let's get into it this week we also have four changing lines oh my goodness so you know what last week felt like there was every day there was something new something coming at us day by day by day that's the energy of the changing lines where the energy is moving and transforming really quickly so understand that this week too that energy is present Our first hexagram for this week is hexagram three, difficulty at the beginning.
Belinda DovestonHOST
3:01
Now remember that for September we have hexagram 35, progress locked.
Belinda DovestonHOST
3:08
So our theme for the whole of September is doubling down this intensification around the progress that we need to make in this month.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:28
Well, one little day of August and a whole lot of days of September in this weekly forecast.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:35
Last week we had Hexagram 10 treading, walking the walk.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:39
OK, we are following the tail of the tiger, the power of the tiger and the dragon.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:44
And heaven help us if we try and push too fast.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:52
We have to honor the power in our situation, the opportunity for us to make progress and make those measured steps forward.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:01
But we have to walk the walk, action towards fulfilling what we are here to do.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:07
Plus, we had Hexagram 60, Limitation, knowing how to put in place boundaries to manage the overwhelm, the controls and structures of how we can break up our situation into manageable chunks to allow us to prevent the overwhelm and to keep walking, okay, with two changing lines bringing us some extra advice on how to perfect our walk and really understanding the fulfillment of a journey, of a commitment, of something that we were doing setting out to do fulfilling and completing that journey and unlocking blessings so if anything came up for you in this past week and working with that energy please do share a comment Right, this week, I must just tell you there are four changing lines.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:52
We'll whip through them very quickly, shortly, but first let's get into the main hexagram for this week.
Adam ElenbaasHOST
24:00
So the two hexagrams that I got when I asked the I Ching, and they kinda dovetail off from this.
Adam ElenbaasHOST
24:05
Hexagram 38, line six.
Adam ElenbaasHOST
24:07
Now hexagram 38 means estrangement, divergence, misunderstanding, and the experience of seeing things from fundamentally different perspectives.
Adam ElenbaasHOST
24:20
This hexagram, interestingly, talks more about misunderstanding and misperception than it does about good guys and bad guys, even though the hexagram speaks to people perceiving themselves or others in this way.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:24
We are barreling towards the end of this month.
Belinda DovestonHOST
0:30
last week we had hexagram 25 innocence the unexpected the child experiencing things in a new way okay releasing those attachments us adults have and putting the stone in the mouth for a taste experiencing something new okay opening up our expectations releasing those attachments to these expectations and finding new ways of just experiencing where we at and be open to the spontaneous blessing okay plus we had some interesting changing lines coming to bring us some awareness of the fact that we are still plowing and preparing the field okay and we're wanting a harvest we want to harvest now before we even have a field that can produce a harvest where do we need to release that expectation and recognizing when the issue is not our issue not taking medicine when we are not ill if it's somebody else's stuff right they are not ill you don't need to take medicine yourself letting go and letting things work out by themselves as they will in that line plus working with opposition interesting hexagram 38 were you internally conflicted did you have an internal oil and water moment this week or did you see that happen around you in your team your family where we had to emulsify together to find a new way of seeing a way forward a new creative solution that takes the best of everything and puts it into something new did you work with these hexagrams did they manifest for you and did you learn through what the I Ching is trying to bring us week by week and month by month Right, for this week coming, what are we paying attention to? What is the flow of change we are being asked to tune into, work with, unpack, right? Here's hexagram 10, treading.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:22
In ancient Chinese, this symbol that goes with this hexagram literally means shoes walking, okay? How we are walking forward and fulfilling the project, the process, the phase of life we are in.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:38
You'll remember this hexagram as the one where we are following the tail of the tiger or the dragon.

7 MINS LATER

Belinda DovestonHOST
9:53
So when we think about hexagram 60, we think about what do we need to do to put in boundaries and controls.
Belinda DovestonHOST
10:01
Measured activity.
Belinda DovestonHOST
10:03
This ties so beautifully with the changing lines and hexagram 10, treading, walking step by step, taking measured action.
Belinda DovestonHOST
10:13
And the measurement is not wild, unplanned thinking.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:43
Right, into this week.
Belinda DovestonHOST
1:45
Where are we going? What are we paying attention to as we work with the I Ching and the flows of change in our own lives this week? We have hexagram 25 the unexpected innocence.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:00
Okay this hexagram is one of the ones I've done in the I Ching series on the hexagrams so I will put a link in somewhere so that if you want to go into the detail you're more than welcome.
Belinda DovestonHOST
2:14
This hexagram is about releasing attachments, releasing entanglements, and getting back to the innocent, wide-eyed, open nature of a child, okay? And when we think about a child, they walk along the path and they see, oh, that's a shiny, nice object.
