Hewitt-Trussville High School

So they're a really, really solid program.

And, yeah, it looked like, you know, we're used to seeing a lot of the Hewitt-Trussville games where teams are running up and down the field.

It seemed like it took a little while for the offenses to get going in that one.

Yes, it did.

Sparkman 28, G- Grissom 7.

And Vestavia Hills over Hewitt Trussville, 27-24.

In 5A, Albertville 27, Columbia 7.

Austin 21, Florence 17.

A- and the way that they did it was, was really cool to see.

Now, speaking of Vestavia, they're gonna be hosting a game that Pat is gonna be a part of, Hewitt-Trussville rolling into Thompson Reynolds Stadium.

I remember this game a couple of years ago, where Hewitt rolled in there and kind of unexpectedly.

Thought it was gonna be a good game, but, but Hewitt kinda named their score and had their way.

You know, we talked about Price LeMaster, he would be ready to step in at quarterback, and, um, he certainly knows the system and has done it for several years and, and would be a capable step-in, but it's still no Charlie Taft.

So we'll see what the, uh, the situation plays out with there.

Um, but on the Hewitt-Trussville side, you know, they're, they've had a couple, y- you know, those losses to, to Thompson and Prattville, you know, the scorelines are a little bit eye-popping.

And, you know, you had the game against Oak Mountain that goes to triple overtime, and, and they win.

TR Miller 35, Escambia County 19.

Tallassee 46, Beauregard 9, Thompson 47, Hewitt Trussville 17, Thorsby 50, Dallas County 12, Tuscaloosa Academy 69, Elwood 0, UMS Wright 33, Montgomery Catholic 27 in double overtime, Viger 56, BC Rain 6, WS Neal 35, Wilcox Central 6, Washington County 50, Fruitdale 12, Wetumpka 43, Park Crossing 21, Wilcox Academy 16, Jackson Academy 0, Williamson 42, Citronelle 7, Wilson 14, West Limestone 7, Winneboro 46, Lafayette 14, Zion Chapel 14, Houston County 6.

That pretty much wraps up the scores that we have from around the state.

And, you know, we were talking a little bit about who we thought was the best team in 1A in the state right now.

And then also planning to go and see, um, part of the Thompson game as well.

Thompson at Hewitt-Trussville.

Thompson home to Junior Tuopo, the Texas safety commit, um, that Auburn has remained after.

Not to mention 15 other guys-

...

Hewitt, Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama.

And then you became a jock, and then everyone else-

And then I became, like, the cool, the coolest of the nerds-

Here's your scores from last night, and it's including Thursday night.

In class 6A, Auburn over Opelika 14-11, Carver-Montgomery over Jag 42-14, Central Phenix City 45, Dothan 0, Daphne big over Robertsdale 41-9, Enterprise 38, Smith Station 19, Fairhope 35, Alma Bryant 0, Foley 42, Davidson 28, Gaston City 44, Grissom 21, Hewitt-Trussville 48, Oak Mountain 45 in three- Ooh ...

I said three overtimes.

Huntsville 56, Hazel Green 28, James Clemens 38, Buckhorn 28, Mary Montgomery 17, Baker 10, Prattville over Spain Park 35-28, Sparkman 35, Bob Jones 17, Thompson 31, Hoover 14, and Vestavia Hills 52, Tuscaloosa County 7.

So, uh, looking forward to, to kind of my first, first, uh, venture out to the stadium tonight and, and I, I would expect the Patriots to take care of business.

Jumping back up to Class 6A region play, you get Hewitt-Trussville, a game that Pat's gonna be a part of.

Three and two taking on Oak Mountain, Herdmart Park.

Oak Mountain still in search of their first region victory, but I talk about Kentrell Tolbert, their tailback, all the time.

But, uh, yeah, you mentioned Tolbert.

If, uh, Oak Mountain's got any shot to kind of, to score with the Huskies tonight, it's gonna be, um, in large part because of Tolbert.

Uh, you know, Hewitt-Trussville, uh, that's a, uh, that's a loss that, that I know y'all've, uh, touched on with, with the way the Prattville game went two weeks ago.

But maybe the open week, you know, you kind of settle back in and, and you've got some, you've got some really tough region games, uh, still on the horizon for Hewitt-Trussville.
