Heroscape

... for a long time I have had a particular issue, and I'm probably gonna get in trouble with this.

I have mixed up the titles HeroScape and HeroQuest.

Blasphemy.

Both Hasbro titles, both vastly different games, but I have mixed up the titles.

And now, just to make my life more difficult, Renegade Games has made an expansion for HeroScape called HeroScape Expeditions, which sounds like it turns it into HeroQuest.

HeroScape [laughs] Expeditions is now a scenario-driven dr- dungeon crawl play mode for HeroScape.

That's interesting.

Now, I'm gonna-

Ooh,

Tom, what? This is on me because when Mike showed me this news piece, I was like, oh, another expansion for HeroScape.

No, it's more than that.

HeroScape Expeditions is here.

They're turning HeroScape into a dungeon-crawling game.

So you can take any eight HeroScape army cards, including GI Joe, and go through a series of modular dungeon rooms filled with traps, tricks, and rewards.

So this is going to launch with five dungeon room scenarios.

Now, I don't know what I will think of this because, I mean, again, this is fundamentally changing how the game plays.

Yes.

HeroScape, for a couple reasons.

Look, look.

One is, we have no experience with the new stuff.

That's true.

Right? So we can't vouch for any of it.

On top of that, a lot of what made HeroScape HeroScape is gone and will never come back.

A lot of what made HeroScape the genius that it was was going to that big box store and plunking down 10 bucks and getting those figures.

Mine were

Heroscape number one, Terrascape number two, and Enemies of Gotham number three.

And those were maybe the best three games I've ever played at a convention, can't-vention combining those.

So pretty awesome list.

I...

HeroScape, the dumbed-down version of HeroScape might work, or even regular HeroScape, just don't play with all the powers and stuff, and I think you'd have a good time.

"Any IP that you think would have..." Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

No. [laughs] I don't care.

I've already pre-ordered my stuff, so I didn't buy any of the stuff that was up there.

Uh, but I did, uh, I did some, uh, my, my buddy Jeff, who I travel with, um, who was my team tournament partner earlier, um, he's a big Heroscape player, so we did some Heroscape events, which was really interesting.

Um, I have not done...

I played Heroscape most- mostly with him, not done a lot of like, you know, competitive or organized Heroscape stuff.

Um, but, you know, he's come over and played in the team tournament with me, uh, and he played in the solo as well.

Um, um, but, but, uh, for Halo.

Um, at Gen Con, I did some, you know, pick up games and things when I could, like to oh, try this game out or walk, maybe this event has a space I can walk in.

Um, but yeah, exc- it was...

And then we went to Renegade.

You picked up a lot of your HeroScape stuff.

Got a couple of free promos.

Got the con promo.

We're like, huh, let's look into that one, you know, and then I had my priorities of which ones I did and didn't want

to do.

And then you went to Luma and I went over to Cosmos and you went and dropped some stuff off, your HeroScape stuff that you picked up off in the bag.

And so I was like, okay, I went to Cosmos because we got the deluxe edition of the gang and while you were sitting in Luma Imports to get all your stuff.

And hopefully you will enjoy this one as well.
