Hero syndrome

There's a lot of teammate interplay that actually makes me believe that they still have their ducks in a line.

But then I see moments where know in a 2v1 someone is over peaking or over challenging by themselves or molodoy is four times re-peaking zaiwu you know on a fight and i see moments like that i just think why are why are people overheating in these moments you know that i think you know whether or not we realize it or not the the fact they haven't been able to beat a vitality a spirit of falcons um recent months is probably something that they feel like there's a bit of i think there's almost like a hero syndrome that comes with it um like i think i've seen uh there were more times that they're missing utility as well which was also kind of a surprise for for for me watching uh their games so i'm just i think they've got all the foundation and all the the building blocks i think it is just coming down to like personal nerves and independent sort of micro decisions for for players that's that's kind of holding these guys back which is What kind of hurts about this conversation? Because I'd love to just be like, well, they don't use their flashes effectively, or their trading is terrible, their spacing is terrible, because I feel like that's an easier problem to fix, as opposed to fixing all the individual cogs, because they feel like they're almost the right size, but they're slightly misaligned.

One of the things that I find so weird in general about this team is actually the main focus of the team from the day they went international until now actually always is just Molodoy watch.

The prosecution alleged that Benjamin Gein got off on the thrill of the life and death cases and craved to be at the centre of it all, so much that he was willing to deliberately sabotage his own patients to chase that high.

A criminal psychologist who analysed Benjamin Gein also suggested that he exhibited what is commonly referred to as hero syndrome.

I don't think that's a specific medical term, but it is used a lot.

So it's a psychological phenomenon, is how it's described, in which an individual seeks out or creates opportunities to rescue or help others, often to an excessive degree.

This behaviour is typically driven by a deep need for validation, recognition or a sense of self-worth.

People with hero syndrome may put themselves or others in danger by attempting to intervene in situations where their assistance isn't needed or is even counterproductive.

And while the term hero syndrome isn't an official clinical diagnosis, it is used informally, I think, to describe this pattern of behaviour.

And it is really important to try and differentiate between genuine altruism and hero syndrome because the latter can lead to unintended negative consequences where people are creating these situations to put themselves at the centre and to be the hero.
