Sense and Sensibility is the latest adaptation of a Jane Austen novel.

The main cast stars Daisy Edgar Jones as Eleanor Dashwood, Esme Creed Miles as her sister Marianne, Catriona Balfe as Mrs. Dashwood, the mother, Frank Delane as John Willoughby, Herbert Nordrum as Colonel Brandon, George Mackay as Edward Ferris, Fiona Shaw as Mrs. Jennings, Bodhi Ray Brethak as Margaret Dashwood, Stacey Martin as Fanny Dashwood, Tom Brook as John Dashwood, and Terloy Convery.

Now, I don't think there's any people of colour in that line-up.

Is there, Clarice?

This adaptation is unlike any you've seen before, putting the sisterhood between Marianne and Eleanor front and centre, concerned less with bonnets and corsets than with being one with a natural world and unbridled emotion, in my opinion, just as Austen intended.

It has an absolutely stellar British cast, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esme Creed-Miles playing the Dashwood sisters, with incredible supporting performances from Picturehouse favourites George Mackay, Fiona Shaw, Frank Delane, Herbert Nordrum and Catriona Balfe to name but a few.

I was so excited to sit down with a handful of the film's cast as well as director, first chatting with Georgia and Esme, then with Frank and Herbert.

He's very, very untrustworthy, isn't he? Um, uh, Herbert Nordrum as the clearly trustworthy and, if truth be told, clearly Norwegian Colonel Brandon.

Being, uh, very Alan Rickman-ish.

isn't it? Because you've got to be sort of stiff, slightly dull, slightly boring and tedious, but then underneath...

Yeah, I think Herbert Nordrum, who's playing Brandon, well, he's hampered by a lot of facial hair.

He's got just so much facial hair.

And so I don't know if you really get to the underneath with him.

She sounds very easy to root for, I will say.

She sounds, they almost are playing her kind of like an underdog, someone that pascal chris briney's character is not expecting to come into his life and kind of pose these new things in his life whether romantically or kind of challenge him while studying for this exam uh kind of challenging his own intelligence against hers maybe so there's a lot i'm very intrigued to see in this film i'm excited to see chris briney in a new role jillian anderson jason isaacs love both of these actors so there's a lot to look forward to with this movie so it is definitely high up on my list Okay, next up, also in the special presentation section, is a film with, I think, the most interesting, maybe the most intriguing or eye-catching title of TIFF this year, and that is Everybody Wants to F Me, directed by Jonathan Shea, stars Taryn Egerton, Jessica Henwick, Charlie Clive, Mia McKenna-Bruce, who was at TIFF last year for her film The Fence, and Herbert Nordrum.

I am so, again... intrigued by this film.

As soon as I saw this title for the first time, I had heard about this film prior to it being announced at TIFF, so I already kind of knew a bit about it before I started reading these synopses for TIFF, but it's so intriguing.
